De Burgh: Project News December 2023
17 January 2024
First concrete poured at De Burgh
Since construction began at De Burgh in September 2023, the team has faced some challenging weather, including a November rainfall of nearly double the average for this time of year.
Despite this, good progress has been made across the site, with nearly 70 per cent of the soil being removed through bulk excavation. The footings for the tower crane have also been excavated. We have poured 232 concrete piers, connecting them all with a capping beam – the first concrete to be poured on the site.
The milestones we expect to achieve in the first quarter of this year include completing the bulk excavation, pouring the level 3 basement slab and installing pre-cast panels in the basement. We will also be erecting two tower cranes, after which you can expect to see the structure rapidly emerge from the ground.
At this stage, construction completion is still on track for 2025. You can follow the construction process via updates on our social media pages or this website. If you have any questions, email us at nv@jwland.com.au
